Belated birthday wishes – what to do when you forget a friend’s birthday

You just realized you forgot your best friends birthday – now you’re in trouble. What do you do? We’ll it’s better late than never, and your friend will appreciate the gesture. After all it’s the thought that counts. So go ahead, swallow your pride and offer up some belated birthday wishes.

Maybe the best way is to pay your friend a visit or speak with them in person. It could be a great excuse to arrange a get-together with a friend or relative you have not seen in a long time. When you visit, bring a gift or birthday card.

If a face to face meeting is not possible, pick up the phone and sing them Happy Birthday. Be brave! If they’re not home leave them a belated birthday greeting on their voicemail. You could even jazz up your message with a birthday poem.

The huge popularity of social media Internet web sites makes them a great place to express belated birthday wishes. You must remember however, that anything you post on these sites can also be read by many other people. Belated birthday wishes can be posted on people’s personal pages. If desired, photos, cartoons, poems or links to videos or other pages can be included with your message.

There are also several online web sites that offer free electronic birthday cards. These ‘e-cards’ are sent by e-mail and often feature animated messages accompanied by birthday music. Usually, you must register with these web sites, but there are no fees charged for registering or sending belated birthday e-cards.

Don’t forget the regular mail system. You could always send a letter or postcard in which belated birthday wishes are expressed.
